Chair
Parish: Saint Callistus, Kane
As a forester, Ken Kane’s life’s work draws a remarkable parallel to his service on the board of the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania. Both vocations hold core beliefs and understanding that decisions made today have a profound effect on future generations. “The Catholic Foundation is important for the sustainability of the church,” Ken explains when asked why he makes time to serve on its board. “We all have to do what we can to maintain the fundamentals of the faith and invest in its future.”
Elected to the Foundation board in 2020, Ken serves actively and stepped into the role of board chair in 2025. His engagement in the Catholic community brings invaluable insight to the Foundation.
“The Holy Spirit is at work in us,” Ken often reminds the group. The opening prayers he offers at meetings invite graces of vision and strength to make sound decisions and guidance to be examples of our faith to others. As board chair, Ken views himself as facilitator, speaking frequently with appreciation about the gifts and commitment of his peer board members and the Foundation staff. He seeks to leverage the ministry and services of the Foundation to benefit parishes and others doing the work of the Gospel throughout northwest Pennsylvania.
A lifelong member of Saint Callistus Parish in Kane, Ken has contributed significantly to countless community and regional boards, authorities and committees.
