Tom Hoffman has devoted his professional career to helping business owners, families, and charitable organizations plan for the future. A shareholder attorney with Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett, P.C., Tom focuses his practice on business succession planning, estate and trust planning, tax matters, and the administration of complex estates and trusts. Throughout his career, he has advised thousands of businesses and high net worth individuals, helping clients navigate significant financial, legal, and family transitions with confidence and care.
Tom's commitment to stewardship extends beyond his professional work and is deeply rooted in his Catholic faith. A fourth-generation member of St. Peter Cathedral Parish, he attended St. Peter Cathedral Grade School and Cathedral Preparatory School. Today, his triplet children are fifth-generation parishioners, continuing a family legacy of faith and involvement in the Catholic community. His children attended Our Lady of Peace School, Mercyhurst Preparatory School, and Cathedral Preparatory School.
Elected to the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania Board of Directors in 2018, Tom joined the Foundation to help support the Catholic missions, ministries, and charitable works of the Diocese of Erie. Drawing on his extensive experience in estate planning, asset protection planning, charitable giving, and business succession, he contributes valuable insight to the Foundation's efforts to strengthen the Catholic Church and serve future generations.
In addition to his service on the Foundation board, Tom previously served on the St. Peter Cathedral Finance Committee. He is also the Chair of the Penn State Behrend Council of Fellows, and a board member for both the Erie Center for Arts and Technology (ECAT) and the Foundation for Sustainable Forests.
This combination of professional expertise, lifelong Catholic education, and multigenerational parish involvement makes Tom a passionate advocate for the Foundation's mission and the future of the Catholic Church in northwest Pennsylvania.
