Grant Impact Story
The Catholic Foundation Board of Directors became aware of a need for funding designated for the Diocese of Erie Emmaus Convocation, an annual gathering of priests and deacons that provides our clergy a time for rest, reflection, and renewal of their commitment to Christ and to one another.
Because of the generosity and vision of donors who have established unrestricted endowments in the Foundation, the board of directors was able to provide an extraordinary grant for the 2025 Emmaus Convocation. The convocation is held annually in June for priests and deacons of the Diocese of Erie. This grant assisted with the hotel arrangements for our diocesan clergy during this special gathering.
Father Nick Rouch, Vicar General, explained, “The hotel is dedicated to our exclusive use and provides a private atmosphere for our fraternal gatherings, as well as facilities more accessible for our retired clergy.”
Expressing his thanks on behalf of the attendees and the Emmaus Committee, Father David Renne said, “Because of your thoughtfulness, the priests and deacons of the Diocese of Erie were able to come together for our annual Emmaus Convocation in Latrobe – an event that we all look forward to and serves as a time of strengthening and renewal for our ministry. Know of our prayers for all of you. Please pray for us.”
Unrestricted donations and endowments give the board of directors the ability to respond to current needs of the Foundation or needs identified in our Catholic community.
